Astraea is a lifestyle tracking app designed for informational and educational purposes only. It is NOT a medical device and should NOT be used to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease or condition. The information provided by this app does not constitute medical advice. Always seek the advice of your physician or qualified healthcare provider with any questions you may have regarding a medical condition.

Welcome to Astraea. By using our app, you agree to these Terms of Service. Please read them thoughtfully.
1. Who We Are
Astraea is operated by App Branch, LLC, a limited liability company registered in the State of Delaware, United States.

Throughout these Terms, "Astraea", "we", "us", and "our" refer to App Branch, LLC and the Astraea mobile application and related services (the "App" or "Services").
2. Acceptance of Terms
By creating an account, accessing, or using the App, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.
If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not access or use the App.
3. Eligibility
To use Astraea, you must:
- Be at least 13 years of age (16 for residents of the EEA and UK)
- Have parental or guardian consent if under 18
- Have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms
4. Consent & Data Processing
During onboarding, you will be presented with a dedicated consent screen where you must actively agree to:
- The processing of your health data for personalized tracking and AI-powered insights
- Our Privacy Policy and these Terms of Service
You cannot use the App without providing this consent. By accepting, you acknowledge that your data may be processed by third-party services (including OpenAI and Mixpanel) as described in our Privacy Policy.
You may withdraw your consent at any time by adjusting your settings within the App or by deleting your account. Withdrawal of consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before the withdrawal.
5. Your Account
When you create an account, you are responsible for:
- Maintaining the security of your account credentials
- All activities that occur under your account
- Providing accurate and complete information
- Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized access
6. AI Features & Limitations
Our AI assistant and Food Scanner provide general information. You acknowledge that:
- AI suggestions are for informational purposes only, not medical advice
- AI responses are generated content and may not always be accurate or complete
- You should always consult healthcare professionals for medical decisions
- The Food Scanner provides PCOS-friendliness scores, not clinical nutritional assessments
- AI features may be updated or modified at any time
- Free users have daily limits on AI chat and food scan usage
- Photos sent to Food Scanner are processed by third-party AI services (OpenAI) and are not stored permanently
7. Subscriptions & Payments
- Subscriptions are billed through Apple App Store or Google Play
- Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled
- Cancel at least 24 hours before renewal to avoid charges
- Refunds are handled per Apple or Google policies
- Premium subscribers receive unlimited AI chat and food scan usage
- Free users have limited daily access to AI features
8. User Content License
By submitting content through the App (including AI chat messages, food photos, symptom logs, and other data), you grant App Branch, LLC a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, process, and store this content solely for the purpose of providing and improving the Services.
You retain all ownership rights to your content. We will never use your health data for advertising purposes or share it with third parties except as described in our Privacy Policy.
9. Analytics & Tracking
We use third-party analytics services (Mixpanel) to understand how the app is used and improve your experience. By using the app, you acknowledge that:
- We collect anonymized usage data such as feature interactions, session information, and device metadata
- We do not collect device identifiers (IDFA, IDFV, Android ID) or location data
- Analytics data does not include your health information or symptom logs
- You can opt out of analytics tracking in the app settings at any time
10. Third-Party Services
The App integrates with third-party services (including OpenAI, Supabase, RevenueCat, and Mixpanel) to provide its features. We are not responsible for the practices or policies of these third-party services. Your use of such services is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies.
The App may also contain links to external websites or resources. We do not endorse and are not responsible for the content or availability of any external sites.
11. Acceptable Use
You agree NOT to:
- Use the app for any unlawful purpose
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems
- Interfere with or disrupt the app's functionality
- Reverse engineer any part of the app
- Share your account with others
- Use the app to provide medical advice to others
- Use any automated means to access or interact with the app
12. Intellectual Property
All content, features, and functionality of Astraea — including but not limited to text, graphics, logos, icons, images, software, and AI-generated content — are the exclusive property of App Branch, LLC and are protected by international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes in accordance with these Terms.
13. Disclaimer of Warranties
THE APP AND ALL CONTENT, FEATURES, AND SERVICES PROVIDED THROUGH IT ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE APP WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, SECURE, OR FREE OF VIRUSES OR OTHER HARMFUL COMPONENTS. WE MAKE NO WARRANTIES OR REPRESENTATIONS ABOUT THE ACCURACY, RELIABILITY, OR COMPLETENESS OF ANY CONTENT PROVIDED THROUGH THE APP, INCLUDING AI-GENERATED CONTENT.
14. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, APP BRANCH, LLC AND ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, USE, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OR INABILITY TO USE THE APP, ANY CONTENT PROVIDED THROUGH THE APP (INCLUDING AI-GENERATED CONTENT), OR ANY HEALTH DECISIONS MADE BASED ON INFORMATION PROVIDED BY THE APP. IN NO EVENT SHALL OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU EXCEED THE AMOUNTS YOU HAVE PAID TO US IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR ONE HUNDRED US DOLLARS ($100), WHICHEVER IS GREATER. SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW THE EXCLUSION OR LIMITATION OF LIABILITY, SO THE ABOVE LIMITATIONS MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU.
15. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless App Branch, LLC and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, damages, obligations, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from: (a) your use of the App; (b) your violation of these Terms; (c) your violation of any third-party right, including any intellectual property or privacy right; or (d) any claim that your use of the App caused damage to a third party.
16. Maintenance & Updates
We may, from time to time, issue updates, patches, or new versions of the App. We may also modify, suspend, or discontinue any feature or part of the App at any time without prior notice. We shall not be liable to you or any third party for any modification, suspension, or discontinuation of the App or any part thereof.
17. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the App at any time, with or without cause, and with or without notice. You may delete your account at any time through the app settings. Upon termination, all provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive shall survive, including but not limited to intellectual property provisions, warranty disclaimers, indemnity, and limitations of liability.
18. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the App shall be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in the State of Delaware, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of such courts.
If you are a resident of the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, nothing in these Terms affects your rights under mandatory consumer protection laws in your country of residence.
19. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the app or by other reasonable means. Your continued use of the App after the changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you should discontinue use of the App.
20. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect. The invalid or unenforceable provision shall be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it valid and enforceable.
